Eric,

CF is the base (older lens), the "i" in CFi stands for improved.  So, an improved version of the Cf I suppose.  The "E" means that it has electronic contacts that are compatible with the electronic bodies such as the 203.  They are otherwise CFi lenses.  Hope that helps.

Any differences between older and newer lenses (i.e., CF vs CFi  and CFE?)
Hasselblad.com's faq says the newer lenses are sharper - I would bet the
older lenses are just fine for my doodlings..

Any reason to get a newer 500 body or they really all just very nicely
made
light tight  boxes?
