Hi Bill,

I am also very familar with the scenario. Noneneless, when
there is a virus breakout in a small community, it behooves
on us to make sure we run the latest antivirus software.

Phong,
Virus did not have to come from you. Follow this:
someone, me for example, gets email from you.
My computer has a virus.
The virus goes into my mailbox and picks a user id, say yours for example.
It then mails itself to everyone in my machine so everyone thinks they got
an email with a virus from Phong, not me.
Those without protection get infected and the chain continues on and on and
on.
You, in the meantime, get a ton of email from a) antivirus programs that do
an autosend telling the 'sender' about the virus, and b) people that get the
message and assume it came from you. You then sit there scratching your
head wondering what is going on. I am very familiar with this particular
deal because someone with my address in their machine has a virus and this
is exactly what happened. I ran both Norton and MacAfee and came up clean,
plus at the same time I was upgrading from Windows ME (possibly the worst
operating system Microsoft ever foisted off on the public) with XP Pro and
did a reformat of my drive and a clean install.
Bill

You guys have me so paranoid, I rescanned all of my computers
using Norton AntiVirus 2003, and they showed up clean. I am
not saying that the infected message could not come from me.

My Norton AntiVirus package gave me the same indication. Whether that was a
false signal I do not know.

However, I quit saying "never" and "impossible' a long time ago regarding
computers, the Internet and bright people who like to play tricks on others.
