First thing he did was take a ball peen hammer, go round the back and give the bumper, low down, a small but gentle whack, putting a dent in it. He knew it was going to happen now, so he figured it was best of if he did it himself, right now, and get the pain over and done with... :-) (Mind you, this same person would also read the last chapter first of any novel he was reading - in case he died before he finished it.
