Subject: [Leica] Re: Nikkor LTM update

My thanks to the fine gentlemen LUGgers who answered my question about the Nikkor LTM.
I've since contacted the owner and let him know what a jewel it is that he has (one of a batch of 300 made) and that I cannot afford it. :)

Mr. Gandy suggested that he may have a hard time selling it as most Leica collectors want Leitz glass and most Nikon Collectors want Nikkors that fit their Nikons. But I'm sure that if he makes an attempt the owner will find someone who would love to have the lens in the fine condition that it is in and who can afford closer to what it is worth.

ME, I'm not a collector of equipment, but a beater of equipment and so I try not to own anything that it would make me ill to drop on concrete by accident. I may buy the nice Elmar that he has for sale just to replace the VERY soft Jupiter3 on my beater IIIc. Since having an M body to put my Summitar on, the IIIc either wears the Jupiter or nothing at all. The collapsible Elmar 5cm/3.5 makes the venerable old LTM body a very small (albeit slower) package indeed.

Carpe Luminem,
Michael Eric Berube
