I agree that all the three brands and more are great. Nikon, Canon,
Olympus, Pentax, Contax. And that Leica is better than great.
If there is a brand i forgot about i apologize ahead of time. Rollei.
That 100 to 300 macro sounds amazing. A guess at 300 you can shoot a
macro shot of the head of a bee on the top of the empire state building
while you're on the ground. ...something like that.
