Subject: Re: [Leica] Focussing Noctilux and 75 Summulix in low light

An oft forgotten focussing 'trick' is that it is many times easier to
move your body, than it is to turn the focussing ring on the lens. For
one, it's usually faster. For another, it doesn't risk jostling the
lens/camera combo (making you loose sight of what's in focus and what
is not).

Guesstimate your distance to the subject (easily done with a little
practice -- a couple of evenings) or rough focus using the RF patches.
Then aim the patch at the thing you want in focus and sway
back-and-forth until the images are in synch. Recompose and shoot.

That said, low light always makes it difficult to focus; and 1/15s with
a 75mm lens means that even if you *are* in focus, blur due to camera
shake is a BIG factor.
