Don't anybody say Patek Philippe, that would be oh so 
cliche'  :-)

I once had Boucheron pocket watch with fitting leather
case that was left in the pocket thru the washing machine.
I believe it was made in the 1930s-1940s.  Once I was in
a Boucheron store in Geneva, and a long time employer
was so excited to see the watch; he knew most models,
but had only heard of that one.

Now I occasionally wear a Tag Heuer.  I find wearing
a watch distracting for photography; I keep banging
my expensive watch on my expensive camera :-)
I check the time displayed on my cell phone.
