Hi Simon,

Actually you need to go back in time to (imo) find the truly great IWC
watches. The Caliber 89 watches including the Mark X and Mark XI that
were made for the Royal Airforce, the RSAAF, RAAF and the RCAF during
the 1940's. Any of the early Ingenieur series, my favorites being the
125th Anniversary Watch IWC released in 1993 using the last of the 8541
movements and my 1963 Ingenieur which uses the 8531 movement.

The Mark XII (used a stunningly accurate Automatic JLC Caliber) and the
Flieger Chronograph have two of the finest metal bracelets for their
price ever made.

I agree with you're comments on Lange and Sohn and Patek, truly
remarkable and stunning quality!

Regards,

Greg
