For many many years, Alpa was the camera system that I owned and used. I
regularly visited the factory in Ballagues Switzerland. And I became
friends with the Alpa factory owner, Samuel Bourgeois. The factory passed
on to Samuel's son, Benjamin, and after that, it went out of business. On
29th February 1996 Capaul & Weber, purchased Alpa, and Alpa is now a
completely different company, and in a different part of Switzerland. For
the history, go to:

http://www.alpa.ch/alpa/history.html

From this page, you can get to the Alpa home page and see what they
currently manufacture. Outstanding MF WA cameras.
