Some years ago I found a Timex watch on the tundra in Alaska, face down. It
apparently had been there quite some time, as the leather band had rotted
away, leaving the band's buckle next to the watch. I picked it up and gave
it a shake - is was a self-winding mechanical model - and lo and behold, it
started ticking. I replaced the band and used it for several years until I
too lost it. It was gold color, with a Spidel Twist-O-Flex band, in case
anyone visits Alska in the next few years and happens to find it...
