Thanks for the encouragement, David. I wish I could blame things on my
scanning software :) I'm already using Vuescan. I guess I'm just in one of
those ruts.

Here's some typical stuff from yesterday and today. Only the third one is
a halfway decent scan. Grey, Grey Grey ...
