Rich,

Congrats! You've got a great new/old enlarger! I have 2 Focomat 1c's that I
use for large prints.

The Focomat 1 was the first automatic Leitz enlarger. Around 1936 I think. I
have instructions for checking focus if you need a copy. I use a 20x24
saunders easel on my Focomat 1c and I don't have too many autofocus
problems. About 95% of the time, the focus is correct without adjustments to
the lens. I just put my VC filters in the lamp housing.

One question for you Rich, have you ever used PhotoLab
www.photolaboratory.com in Berkeley for B&W prints? I see they print 4x6
proofs with black borders on Ilford paper. Can't get that around here.
