Wow !  My house in the West suburbs of Boston was unaffected 
Anyway,  it would have meant no way to recharge the batteries 
for digital cameras.  Another reason to keep my Leica gear.

I also have to remember to keep some cash around (and food).
You get advance warning for a winter storm though of course
a winter storm which could be more dangerous.
