Usually a proam is a camera that is so designated by the market over a
sustained period of time. The people who gravitate to them are pros and advanced
amateurs. The same could be said for Strad violins. Or Hassels. No one person or
special organization anoints an instrument that becomes a proam. It's
consensus about which people buy what and why. The market is only impressed by
performance. Brand and hype can't save dogs.
