Thanks for clearing that up.  I thought it was because my friend had the
Zone converted Pentax spotmeter that the EV scales didn't correspond, if
Pentax invented a new EV numbering scale, that would explain it.

Anyhow, I wasn't trying to win.  EV is alive and well, we just use it in our
heads now.   I'm glad I started photography when it was common, because it
made it oh so much easier to see those relationships for someone who took
Math 101 as often as I did.
