Depends on what you want to show.
Either way makes a viable photo.
You got 2 photos for the price of one.
:-)

If you crop how far will you go ?
Will you leave the face just below the book or not ?
I would probably crop past the faint eye, but
not the whole face (because it takes away too 
much of the book).
