I know that the largest chain of camera stores in Japan last week reduced
the trade in prices on all older Leicas by 20 percent. This is in the form
of a book sent out to all the Kitamura camera stores in Japan detailing the
amount they can offer for trade-ins. This book is revised and published
every 3 months. Based on this and the buying guide from Fujiya Cameras the
market value seems to be falling quite steadily in Japan. Although the
Japanese Leica collectors shops have not reduced their prices at all.
