I've often wanted to live in Alaska for that very reason. The quality of the light ... Of course, before we all feel sorry for Daniel, let us not forget that while the day is short, the sun stays low all day, so that the usual maxim about not shooting landscapes at noon does not apply--the entire day provides nice, soft side lighting.
