Subject: [Leica] Eva Besnyo died this morning

This morning the great photographer Eva Besnyo died at the age of 93.
She was born in Budapest and in 1930 moved to Berlin. Already two years
later when Hitler came in sight she moved to Holland where she lived
until her death. Looking back she says that in these two years, in full
freedom, in Berlin she made her best photographs.
She is famous because she was one of the first street/documentary
photographers.
Later she photographed(among other subjects) the Dutch woman rights
movement.
We lost a great person and a great photographer.

Best regards,

Michiel Fokkema
