Subject: [Leica] Some things really are best left unphotographed.

So, years back, I'm in college and the telephone rings. It's my roommates
mother. She was going through the attic cleaning up junk and came across the
super 8 home move of her son's briss. Do you think he would want it? She
asks. I'm certain he would, I tell her, just send it down care of me, I'll
be sure that he gets it. Oh, imagine the dear boy's mortification when I
showed it to a party full of his friends. That ghastly look has still not
left his face, lo, these many years later.

If you're going to let someone mutilate a baby's genitals, I'd say it's best
to keep the cameras outta the room ... There are some events best not
recorded for posterity.....
