Simon,
Where are you taking the pictures, inside, outside? What types of
pictures, static, moving? Part of what I'm driving at (no pun intended) is
moving cars on the track are quite a bit different then cars on a lawn, vs
cars inside a building with various lighting sources, vs a studio. For
example, when someone like Michael Furman takes pictures like those in his
book, Motorcars of the Classic Era, each car can take a few hours to set up,
searching for the best lighting, looking for the most flattering lines, etc.
What level is the magazine looking for? Some look for works of art, others
have no clue (or budget) for anything but snapshots, composition is center
the car and get the exposure sort of close.
Because of the compound curves on cars, they can be very tricky to
photograph depending of the desired level of output.
Bill

Hello
I have accepted a request to take photographs of cars and their owners for a
magazine but have no experience doing so.Any suggestions would be most
welcome.
Thanks
