Subject: [Leica] M3 TTL?

I have two questions:

1) Has anyone modified an M3 to add an M6 meter (I actually don't care
about TTL flash, just the plain old M6 type meter)? I am thinking that
this might be the cheapest way to get an MP :-)

2) opinions on refinishing with cameraleather (www.cameraleather.com)
or should I keep the slightly chipped vulcanite as it -- this is a user
camera.
