I think something like that is correct. I don't think it's really 2 
sensors, just that the sensor is dealt with as 2 sections by the 
processors. The 1D apparently does the same thing, but mainly to 
allow the greater throughput that that camera is capable of. The 1D 
MkII apparently pages 4 sections. The processing that is required is 
quite massive.
