I really haven't read much of the banter about this issue.  I will say that 
if you are a Journalist in any confrontational situation, you are working at 
the pleasure of whoever is the power.  

In the several (non-war but violent) issues I have covered, I was just as 
embedded as the boys in Iraq. 

The threat was not ongoing, but geez, if you are out there under fire, and 
the Police or Military lets you stay, then embedded you are. 

Bullets whizzing over your head are just as lethal if the body politic 
recognizes you as if they don't.

Sorry B.D. I'm not with you here, and I wanna pick up my medals. Where is the 
table to sign up?
