Well, what about the French custom of
calling their midday meal breakfast (dejeuner),
and the morning one the "little breakfast" ?


As for that English custom, while I am not
keen on the afternoon tea, my various traveling 
companions invariably are.  My favorite places for 
high tea in London is the Brown hotel, though 
I enjoy the production at the Savoy, and the 
Ritz also.  Fortnum & Mason is also pleasant.
Harrod's and the larger hotels are more than 
suitable.  I never had a bad tea while in London.
Of course, my sample is rather small.
