Once you've set up any special exposure parameters unplug it and put it in your pocket. - it could even double as a remote control, - stick it in the hot shoe if you have to have it on the camera for tripod work, macro etc. If a manufacturer got around to this way of thinking we might even get cheaper digi-bodies. All the high grade software on a plug-in module for use on any number of cameras - even different brands (no hope!), different LCD sizes, storage capacity, software packages.All the camera needs is a finder, lens, a shutter, sensor (possibly exchangeable for higher resolution) and a hard-disk.
