I'm just back from a trip to Egypt and Jordan on which I took 2 Leica
(M's), a Hexar RF and an Xpan and a total of 9 lenses, plus a few
accessories and a lot of film. I met three people with Leicas: all
used M's, and one fellow had an R4 as well. In Egypt it seemed that
80% of the tourists had digital cameras, with all but a very few with
P&S cameras, while in Jordan 50-60% had digitals and a number had
high-end film or digital SLR's.

The Leica users were all French, and I met all of them in darker
places (museums and such). Lots of oohing and aahing about my 35/1.4
ASPH and 75/1.4.

No LUG recognition.
