Felix,
Thank you for the information.
The future is now looking even darker for quality photographic products. 
I always rather liked the Contaxes and IMO  the Yashica FX-D Quartz
is probably one of the best entry level SLRs there is My 15-year old son 
has already started on mine, then he gets the Contax, I'm keeping the Leicas
to myself as long as I can, he'll get them in the end anyway.

PS Dare I say this on the LUG - psssst -  one of the best quality Macro 
lenses I ever used is a Yashica, the  2.8/55it  has the most fantastic
quality and half stop clicks for the aperture too..
