It sure would be nice but I find it difficult to believe. A digital 
sensor is not like film. The whole hardware/software is designed around 
that particular sensor. You can't just change the sensor and expect 
everything else to work properly. The R back may be upgradeable in that 
you can take it off, throw it in the garbage and mount a newer one.
