Unfortunately, I don't think you can do this with the Belkin Reader.  
The reader doesn't use a conventional FireWire plug. Instead it uses a  
plug that goes into the Apple "dock" socket at the bottom of the iPod.

Also note that its listed speed is only 300Kbps per second. Nowhere  
near FireWire speed (or even USB 1).

As simply a portable hard drive, somebody might be able to come up with  
a decent way to download memory cards to the iPod without a computer,  
but I don't think the Belkin card reader is it.
