Subject: [Leica] speaking of myths and Urban Legends...

In the latest Photo Techniques, one person says that the adage about some
(B&W) films are flat and some are contrasty is a myth - that if the
negative is too flat, it's underdeveloped, and it's too contrasty, it's
overdeveloped. Simple as that. He found a local PRO lab was mis-developing
couple film types. However, after explaining to the manager of the place
the problems, the manager told him quietly that they are not going to
change the timing because they have been telling their customers that
certain films are flat and certain are contrasty and changing the tunes now
would cause too much trouble!!!

And so a legend lives on...
