Subject: [Leica] speaking of size of that 90/2AA vs. Sonnar 85/2...

The R lens is indeed shorter at 59mm as opposed to 78mm for the M version.
The former is 'fatter' with a larger diameter of 70mm, and a filter thread
of 60mm.

I believe the depth of the mirror box of the camera accounts for the
difference in length?
