[Leica] The Rollei List

The Rollei List was founded by the kindness of Brian Reid as a sister-list
to the LUG a decade back and we have always operated in a common arena of
interest in photography, photographic equipment, and the hunger for that
perfect picture.  

With the assitance of many of the senior members of the Rollei List, I have
recently set up a new Rollei List on Freelists.  The need for this was
simple:  the MAJORDOMO system for the Rollei List was being overwhelmed by
SPAM traffic and the like.  Brian attempted to set us up under MAILMAN but
my own cobbled Internet connection would not recognize this, so Freelists
was the answer.

Those wishing to join us should go to <http://www.freelists.org> and
subscribe to the Rollei List there.  Both regular and Digest options are
available.

I feel a pang at leaving the happy realm of Brian's curtelage but this
change is a necessity, as the spammers were killing the digest.  (And I
have been receiving approximately 300 bounce messages a day from MEJAC for
the past year, giving an indication of the size of the problem.)  

And the migrated Rollei List will still have warm affection for the
contributions of the LUG to our establishment and we all hope to continue a
close and ongoing relationship between the two Lists.
