It's weird, about 3 years ago I noticed that the first 8-element 
version started
to sky rocket in price. The 4th version, last pre-ASPH, has held steady 
at about
$1000 ever since I bought mine about 5-6 years ago. Oddly enough I 
don't really
recall seeing many v2 or v3 for sale. Same for the original Lux, not 
many for sale
and they are expensive when you find them.
