Luis,
        I think it is perfectly legal because the item was not brought into 
the country through the official importer and then sold as new.  What 
happens is that the camera stores buys the item from an out of country 
importer and has them shipped to the US and then sold as new. This is 
no different if you and I would do the same thing and then sell it on 
ebay as new.  I am a lay person so I do not know if this is truly legal 
or not.
