Oddly enough, I like the original chaos better than this crop. Then again, 
that's why I am sitting here and not teaching at MIT :-)

And I bet that if you think this is too sharp, that it has a lot more to do 
with whatever post processing Don did, then whatever lens he uses. The web 
sized pics are just too small to tell anything like that about a lens 
characteristic.
