i always think this is a cuss word.

FWIW, i have reluctantly moved into the scanner-and-inkjet world. this
works mostly because of my poor time-management skills and allows me to
do photoshop "darkroom" work in little bits and pieces. i can't say
it's nearly as much fun as the real darkroom. i do sometimes find
myself losing track of time playing around with images. but it doesn't
feel like i've *made* something in the way that the wet darkroom does.
YMMV.

i can absolutely see the draw of digital sometimes. i shot the scrushy
trial press briefing today--for which i was an hour early after
yesterday missing it--and thought how nice it would have been not to
have had to change film and not to have had to rewind after only half a
roll in order to get it processed ASAP. i also wanted a longer lens--i
had a 50 summicron on my M6 and the 90mm in regular-format on my
Xpan--so i could get close-ups of the weird miss-america rictus faces
the defendant's wife was making. not that that necessarily has
anything to do with digital.
