[Leica] Strange Clouds - LUG Meteorologists, please.

Last autumn in the painted desert I shot this image - same kind of
clouds (NOT made in a tank - although I'd love to see the process)

I've seen these all over the mid-west on the bottom of thunderstorms.
When you begin to see rotation...take cover!
