I do not own a 40mm and I  use my CLE mostly with the 12 or 15mm lenses.

I tried Tom's 40/1.4 briefly (just a  few shots). They balance/handle 
very well together.

I would consider getting the 40 1.4  if I wanted a fast lens for a CLE.
