[Author Prev] [Author Next] [Thread Prev] [Thread Next] [Author Index] [Topic Index] [Home] [Search]Hi Nathan, Nice pictures, these remind me when I was a little bit more young than now - in 1969 - my first trip to Holland, I particularly retain two things in my memory, Urkh (or a similar name) a small and nice fishing village in the north of Amsterdam, I was there a Sunday, nobody was on the village, all was in the Church, many people was on the local very nice dresses in an already freshly September day. The second image I have on my head is of Lelystad, in 1969 it was there any industry, I've found a small hotel, a wood house in the middle of the green territory...., unfortunately I haven't any camera with me, but sometimes the best pictures you have are these ones never take, that you have on your head. I loved the Holland landscapes, as Jacques Brel sang "Le plat pays", very different from ours. Friesland is a lovely part of this country, different in character (and language) from the rest of the Netherlands. It also has the virtue of being the part of the Netherlands that is closest to Denmark :-) In any event, I did have a camera in the pocket of my motorcycle jacket, and have put up a small selection of the resulting pictures: http://www.nathanfoto.com/indexfriesland.html Hopefully you will get a flavor of this beautiful place.
