I've found I get better B&W presentation by scanning prints than by
scanning negs... and when I'm not trying to sell the print as an
"art" print, RC is considerably quicker and easier. (And of course
when I'm sending out courtesy prints I'd MUCH rather work with RC...)

As with most of the back-and-forth in camera clubs, what works best
depends to a large degree on what the exact priorities involved are;
the requirements of commercial/professional work sometimes demand
artistic compromise in the interest of cost/benefit efficiency. Such
is life.  (mostly)
