             You missed " Midleton " from Ireland - in my opinion one the
top Single Malts
             BTW and at the risk of firing the ire of our Scottish friends -
it is my understanding
              whisky is invented by the Irish

Absolutely Brian, as Glennfiddich is merely a run of the mill standard
single malt, although sold in great quantities around the world, it by no
means is a "fine single malt!"

Nice? Yes. Fine? Hardly compared to fine classics such as:

Lagavulin, Dalwhinnie, Glennchinchie,Oban, Cragganmore, Talisker, and 25
year old Macallan! :-) Now these are "fine single malts!" ;-)
