A while ago there was a thread concerning whether a CL or CLE could 
accurately focus a CV 40mm 1.4.
I do not have that lens, but I recently tried a CLE with a CV 35mm 1.2 
and focus was fine (although this lens feels too big for the compact 
camera body). This suggests to me that the RF would be sufficient for 
the 40mm at 1.4
