Subject: [Leica] Benelux LUG meeting sept. 17th
From: philippe.orlent at pandora.be (Philippe Orlent)

We're with 3 ATM: Michiel, Nathan and myself.
Any other Belgian/Dutch folks wanting to attend are very welcome, ofcourse

I'll organise free parking spots at the meeting point: just drive into the
parking at the right hand below the building. I'll provide you with free
parking cards to get back out at the end of the day.
I also can organise breakfast in a nice place nearby, if you folks want to.
(Patanegra, see http://www.resto.be/ware/details.jsp?businessid=11&lg=EN, or
De Eetkamer, see http://www.resto.be/ware/details.jsp?businessid=5553)

Let me know.

Philippe

Set on sept. 17th in Antwerp.

Meeting at 10 Am till ??? PM

Meeting Point: Hangar 26, caf?/rest. De Kaai, Rijnkaai 99, 2000 Antwerpen:
look for a tall wooden building on poles, park your car and walk to the
river. The caf? is at the left side facing the Schelde.

Route description from the Dutch border upon request.

On the (very adaptable) program:

Jewish Quarter
De Keyzerlei
City Park
Red Light District
Old Town Center: Old Market, Groenplaats, Conscienceplein, de Meir, de
Wapper,
the Saturday market, ...
Het Zuid

North- and Southpromenade
Fashion Museum
Antiquities and Brocanterie
The Bourla Theatre + lunch at its Foyer

We will pass 2 good photography shops: Grobet for new stuff and film
(www.grobet.be), and Foto Centrum (www.fotocentrum.be) for old stuff.

Also some caf?s such as:
De Engel, one of the most authentic caf?s in Antwerp
De Vagant, with a fine selection of spirits such as jenever and single malts
SIPS, best cocktail bar in town
Etc.

If you're interested, I can also organise a (3 hr.) visit to the Ruien, the
old sewerage system in the centre of the city. It's non smelling and
definitely Noctilux stuff.
Or
A climb on the Cathedral Tower with a nice view over the city for wide-angle
enthousiasts.

Untill now only Michiel and Nathan confirmed.
Anybody else?

Kind regards,
Philippe
