Hi Chandos,

First of all, the image is beautiful, as other have said, and I also
agree with the selection of the horizontal rather than the vertical shot.

Now to your question. The way I upsize images for Alamy (which requires
at least 48 MB at 8 bits) is with Photoshop: Image Size (with the box
"resample image" checked) and the method set to "bicubic smoother". I
then just type the desired pixel size in the box corresponding to the
long side. In your case, for an 11x14 print, you need the long side to
be at least 200*14=2800 pixels, so that is the value you would type in.
Make sure the "constrain proportion" box is also checked, then the short
side will automatically be upsized as well.

However...you mention shooting with a P&S, so I assume that you shot it
as a JPEG. If that is indeed the case, don't expect miracles. When I
upsize, I am working from a RAW file saved as a 16-bit TIFF. Working
from an 8-bit JPEG you might get some artifacts and other undesireable
side effects (depending on how large your image is to begin with). So be
prepared for perhaps having to settle for an 8x10 instead. Despite the
magic of Photoshop, you cannot make something out of nothing, or as we
economists always say: There is no free lunch!

Good luck,
Nathan
