Kenneth:

Do believe I should go back to square one on my goth statement. It was 
italicized, and when re-reading my post it seemed clear. Yet, and that 
is a major yet, (but not quite of the Yeti class) it leaves room for 
misconceptions.

Honestly, I've no real idea what goth is supposed to represent. Does it 
necessitate viewing photographs of the bizarre while a JS fugue thumps 
away in the background?   There does seem to be a bit of latent S&M in 
both D'agata's work and Kyle's but maybe that has nothing to do with 
real goth.

D'agata is,to me, is a realist.  He is a world-class documentary shooter 
I find nothing erotic in his images and might (facetiously) suggest 
therapy to those that do. Sadness, melancholy , guilt and tons of 
remorse but no goth. Real life that, fortunately or not, many of us fail 
to recognize. 

Kyle, to me, is an illustrator. He comes up with an idea and carries it 
to fruition in a generally superb manner. My suggestion about viewing 
D'agata's work was meant to show (at least in my mind) how goth is a 
poor substitute for the real fantastic things the world presents us with.
