Eric:

Yes, the new version of the 50mm Summilux-R, the one with the E60 
filters, ouperforms the 50mm Summicron at f2.  Here is a shot done at 
f1.7, which is half a stop between the 1.4 and f2.

The 50mm Summicron is not so shabby at f2 either.  If you don't need 
the f1.4, the Summicron will save you a ton of money.
