Friday I took advantage of a rainy gray day to visit Cochran Shoals, this is
a part of the Chattahoochee National Forest which is a fairly large park
running along the river of the same name. Cochran Shoals is usually very
hard to shoot due to the extreme contrast usually found, but on a gray day
possibilities abound. I spent most of my time near the ruins of the Sibley
Mill which was destroyed during the Civil War. First up is an establishing
shot of the semi-restored ruins:

Next, is a small water fall just to the north of the first shot.

Third, the view just in front of the ruins of the main creek about where
the old mill dam would have been:

Fourth, I can't resist shots of lone rocks in the water:

Last, a somewhat enigmatic image. I shot it from above, but I find the
perspective a little disturbing. I would like to know what others think.

Enjoy your weekend, comment as desired, give what aid and thoughts you can
to the victims of the earthquake near Kashmir.
