I know the owner of a small auction house and she has asked me if I would
comment on a leica 1 No. 6648 from about 1928 on a local tv-programme. She
knew I like Leicas - but as the oldest leica I have is a IIIf I need to be
carefull not to get my self into "trouble" on live tv - I am not a
"collector" just a "user"

I know they will ask me about value - about how you can se if it is a fake -
and how to check if it works - and were to have it repared.

Value I guess would be between 500 and 1000 usd ?
Fakes I guess is more the special models like War and gold models ?
If it works - gues that is listen and look - not much different than with
any other vintage cameras - will probably be of 25-50% anyway ?
By the way - is a compur or a focal shutter ?
Were to have it repaired - well DAG has a great rep. but what about nothern
europe - I do not know of any in Denmark that I would trust a Leica to ?

any comments on the above would be much appriciated

Somtimes when local televison interviews people on a certain matter they but
the title expert in front of the name - that would be a laugh

thanks

Ruben
