I went there and to Didcot a couple of years ago - very different from 
the US experience where liability concerns keep visitors in very 
specific places...at the Bluebell and in Didcot we wandered all over 
the place.  A dear friend live in Alton, Hants three doors away from 
the Mid-Hants line from Alton to Alresford and we've visited the shed 
at Ropley several times over the years.  The openness is a refreshing 
change from here in the US.
